Lucie Loves… Food // #Triedandtasted Big fat burritos from @tortillauk

Have you had one yet? JMG and I popped into Tortilla’s Hammersmith restaurant and picked up a couple of hefty real California burritos. These bad boys are ginormous! I went for the grilled chicken and JMG chose steak.

The brand pride themselves on being sustainable, putting some of it down to their Californian roots, but more than anything they believe it’s just the right thing to do. They even work with local schools to teach kids how to cook Mexican cuisine! Nice touch.

If you work near one of Tortilla’s many branches, dotted around London, and in Leeds, Watford, Southampton and Brighton, but don’t have time to dine in, you can order online! Pick your food up when it’s good and ready, to save you waiting around.

Prices on the menu start at around £4 for one of their Dos Tacos, they also do Naked Burritos for those looking for a low-carb option, or you can go for the standard Burrito, in medium or large - depending on your appetite! We went for medium and were very impressed at how big the portions were. Ingredients were very fresh and toppings were plentiful. I even wish I’d been a bit more daring and opted for something a bit spicier…

To wash down our food we ordered a couple of bottles of beer: Samuel Adams for me and a Sierra Nevada for JMG. They also serve margaritas!

Tortilla is a good lunch alternative or a no-frills after-work bite to eat with friends. Very good value for money with quirky decor and speedy service.
