BLOGGED| 08.09.12 @CharlieMay @DrMartens By-The-Sea #FIRSTANDFOREVER Competition Entry #OOTD #Fashion #Style #Photo
Yesterday I spotted the @CharlieMay aka Girl a la Mode Dr Martens Individual Style United Spirit #FIRSTANDFOREVER competition and thought I’d give it a whirl…
At the age of 26 and 364 days… (yes, it’s my birthday tomorrow) These are my very FIRST pair of Dr Martens Airwair boots and I ABSOLUTELY adore them! I have tested them out fully (in a mad dash to the train station) and found them more comfortable than a pair of Nikes and somewhat more suitable to wear with a pretty tshirt dress…
For my trip to the seaside I decided to test them out more extensively… I went for a quick horse ride along the beach, a lovely cycle with the boyfriend along the
no cyclingpromenade, stomped around in front of a few pretty beach huts and balanced on some rocks.Loved it!
What I wore: I paired my Dr Martens Airwair Heeled Chelsea Boots with an old black felt trilby, a rather grunge-y new Topshop crochet cutout floral sundress and armfuls of gold bangles and cute little grey broderie anglaise ankle socks with bows on them.
Et Voila!!

What I wore yesterday | 30.05.12 :: @Primark_fans Floral Print Skinny Jeans & @topshop Walton Rose Gold Metallic Bleach Wood Wedges.
As you will have noticed, my latest shoe fetish comes in the shape of Topshop’s Rose Gold Metallic Bleach Wood Wedges… aka Walton. These shoes are amazing! Serious bling for the feet. It’s like when you were little and used to put an old 1p or 2p copper coin into a glass of Coca Cola, and put it in the fridge only to pull the coin out hours later to find the previously dull as dishwater coin has been transformed into the shiniest copper colour ever! “WOW!” That is what these shoes are like, they transform your once Wintery shod feet into twinkling beacons of Summer!
The also come in a slighter higher heeled version… My Walton wedges are 3” but the Wowza version are a staggering 5” and are therefore would be somewhat inappropriate for *traipsing around a beautiful Greek Island for 2 weeks… *comfortably.
I’ve made the mistake before of
falling in love withbuying shoes/ wedges that have skyscraper heels and/or platforms and then only wearing them a handful of times due to their ball (of your foot) breaking pain and subsequent crippling effect. I’m learning that when it comes to your mid 20s, there are somethings that you shouldn’t take for granted and that is a comfortable, good-looking shoe.I decided to pair my Walton wedges with my Primark Floral Skinny Jeans - I wasn’t too sure of these at first but… then I saw my gorgeous long-legged cousin Liane wearing them and she looked HOT! So I bought the cheap-as-chips pair and decided to give them a whirl - I bought a size 10 but they do get prettttty baggy after a few wears and I then needed to secure them with a thin tan waist belt (also Primark). I also wore a Topshop white button-up sleeveless shirt which I knotted at the waist, my new Topshop SS12 MOTO Bleack Western Denim Jacket, £40 (an Easter present off JMG’s mum), and my Forever21 chain-link collar necklace, which was around £8, and a couple of bracelets - the gold leaf cuff was a piece of jewellery I inherited from an old friend and the multi-coloured wrap-around beaded one was about 5 Euros from a lovely shop in Puerto Pollensa on the harbour front that has lots of beautiful ethnic beaded jewellery.
My Tan Floral Embossed Bag was another cheap steal from Primark, The sunglasses are the Leopard Surf Rider Sunglasses from Urban Outfitters, £16. Individual eyelashes by @HarbLashtastic http://www.lashtastic.net/ - Day 4 and they are still going great!
P.S. It’s now only 6 MORE SLEEPS until we go on our 2 week summer holiday. I’m so giddy with excitement!
