Lucie Loves...My @MoneySupermkt // #PASSIONFORFASHION ’Casual’ Outfit Entry for @MelleRobot:

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES does CASUAL mean SLOB! Casual = Comfortable.

And so… what more comfortable clothing is there than a nice pair of shorts, a decent pair of flat shoes, a snazzy tshirt and cute printed tights. Casual clothing is for hitting the shops, heading out for coffee with friends or even just ‘dressing down’. At no point should you have to resort to a velour tracksuit. EURGH…

Put a spin on 'Casual’ buy choosing pieces carefully.

Choose items for your AW12 wardrobe that you can see yourself pairing with things that you already own.

Every season I find myself vigorously leafing through the pages of my favourite fashion magazines and scouring the fashion and style blogs to find outfit inspiration! I make a note of particular 'looks’ that I think I’d like to try myself and then decide what key pieces I need to buy to make that look work and what pieces I already own. At lot of things, style staples, come around EVERY year.

*Invest in a decent Faux Fur Coat and a Biker Jacket and you’ll be set!*

But… If you do fancy playing around with a certain trend, look for statement accessories such as this curved cross pendant necklace from Forever 21, such a steal at just £2.40!!!? Or if you fancy getting yourself something designer at a discount… Look for collaborations between people like Topshop and young, upcoming designers like J.W. Anderson. This way you can wear designer but at a 'snip’ of the usual price.

Here’s what I’d wear…

Curved Cross Necklace, £2.40, Forever21

Jonathon Aston Hints of Prints Horses Tights, £12,49, TightsPlease.co.uk

Jacquard Metallic Shorts, £30, Topshop

Dr. Martens 'Koram Flash’ Shoe, £95, Farfetch.com

J.W. Anderson Tarten Check Tee, £59.99, Topshop

Total outfit cost: £199.88
