Lucie Loves... London // My fabulous winter cabaret experience at Southbank Centre's La Soirée
A few weeks back I was invited to attend the press preview of hit cabaret show La Soirée. Southbank centre describe it as a ‘theatrical phenomenon’. It most certainly is and so much more.
From the moment you step into the Speigeltent (previously home to Udder Belly festival) you are swept up into a circus frenzy.
Take your ringside seats and wait for the magic to begin.
I honestly did not know what to expect. Which is a rarity these days.
You are kindly asked not to take any photographs - it’s like stepping back in time. You can truly sit back and absorb the show’s wonder without trying to update your instagram at the same time. And after all, you wouldn’t want to spoil the fun for others. La Soirée is no time for second-screen experiences.
Your every sense will be tingling.
Prepare for each jaw-dropping act to blow you away. It’s a wonderfully immersive, adult experience. **Warning: this is NOT for kids or prudes** This show is one that takes you away from the mundanity of the everyday and propels you into the fabulous world and mind of the performer.
Acrobats, divas, contortionists, and comedy acts are all rolled into one big glitter ball of an evening. The most difficult part was trying to decide who our favourite act was!
