Introducing the Ray-Ban round…
Here are a few pics from an outfit shoot I did while on holiday in Croatia, part of a recent collaboration with Sunglasses Shop and the #SGSfaceshapecampaign. Grab a pair of the Ray-Ban Round Metal sunglasses for your summer antics!
As you can see, my hair is a lot darker here than usual… I tried to dye it chilli brown, using a temporary 26 washes hair colour, before my trip (while leaving the ends the faded red colour.) It turned out pretty ombre… but only lasted a few days before the colour went a bit weird, and so I decided to go back red again! I’m such a chameleon.
I was thinking ‘rock chick’ for this look. One of my all-time style icons, who I feel embodies this look incredibly is Lou Doillon – She’s an absolute babe!
So, in true homage to Lou, I went wild with lashings of black: liquid and kohl eyeliner, denim and fringing. Embellished with gold highlights: sunnies, cuff and chain. I’ve never worn a harness of any sort before… But I kind of like it…
Fellow blogger Style on the Couch is a pro at this. The leather pieces she features are beautiful, check them out – who would have thought that something like bondage and fetishes could inspire fashion!
What I wore…
Top ~ ASOS (£6.50!)
Bikini ~ Biba at House of Fraser (a couple of seasons ago)
Shoes ~ Clarks
Bodychain ~ ASOS
Cuff ~ Ottoman Hands
Nails ~ Victoria Beckham for Nails Inc
Sunglasses are the perfect finishing touch for any outfit. And if you’re going to invest in a decent pair, then you need to find the best style to suit you.

Compared to the Ray-Ban Clubround, Clubmaster or classic Wayfarer, these metal frames are more similar to the aviator in feel. They’re perfectly light-weight, which makes them well suited to sunny climates, where you don’t want a chunky pair of sunglasses slipping down your nose, when things start to heat up a bit.
I tend to lean towards tortoise shell/brown frames to suit my colouring, with a cat-eye frame. So, always trying to break out of my comfort zone, I went for something completely different this time around.
My face is fairly long and narrow (more horse face than plate face…) so fits in the oval/oblong category. I chose the new Ray-Ban Round Metal frames in gold to flatter my features.
I spotted so many people in Croatia wearing these sunglasses – there were four of us in my friendship group alone all waring variations of the Ray-Ban Round style! Talk about ‘on-trend’…
