Lucie Loves… Lifestyle // Me, mindfulness and my furry friends [ad]
I’ll let you into a little secret… at work I’m the world’s best at getting people to focus on their wellbeing and the importance of looking after themselves/resting their minds… I’m banging on about it non-stop. But, the ironic thing is, in reality, I’m the world’s worst at practising what I preach.
I have a busy work-life, with varying shift patterns and an even busier home life. I’m constantly on the go, and very rarely stop for two minutes to take some “me” time. Long gone are the days of pamper sessions and hungover duvet days… God I miss being at university!
These days my go-to way to unwind after a hectic day at work is a G&T and cuddles (when they feel like it) with my three gorgeous cats… yes, I’m a self-confessed crazy cat lady – and I’m not even ashamed.
Cats are amazing creatures… well, when they aren’t scratching your new sofa, sleeping on your freshly washed clothes and bringing wildlife into your house! All joking aside – it’s been proven that having a cat is good for your wellbeing.
They make you smile daily, are great listeners, can lessen your stress levels (which is great for your heart), help you sleep better and will love you unconditionally.
Plus lads, statistics say that women are 82% more attracted to men who like animals!
Animals, like people, have amazing intuition and can pick up on human feeling. So, when we’re stressed out or upset, they can feel it. That’s why it’s so important to take some time out away from the daily grind and relax with them.
The guys at Whiskas were kind enough to send me and my furry friends a box of kitten food and treats to play with, to help us all unwind and give us a little much-needed pampering.
What my cat goodie hamper contained:

- **A The Natural Pet Company toy box full of cat toys **
- A Moonpop kitten cup mug and spoon (for me)… hello hot chocolate season!
The boys loved the treats! The Temptations were a firm favourite in our house.
Thank god cats don’t have opposable thumbs to open cupboard doors else we’d all be in trouble!
And though we had lots of fun playing with the Natural Pet Company toys. However, the cardboard box it all came in was the true star of the show for the boys… typical cats.
Thank you Whiskas, for reminding me to take a break from the day to day and giving me and the boys a little well needed pampering. Buddy, Wally and Rufio are all snoring their heads off, wiped out from an afternoon of non-stop playing whilst I enjoy a hot chocolate in my fab new cat mug.
