Lucie Loves… Hair & beauty // #TriedandTested | Getting Christmas ready in 60 minutes for £60 at Michaeljohn, London
Last week, my friend Pauline and I were invited by Michaeljohn to check out a special little something at their Knightsbridge hair and beauty salon.
The salon is perfectly located - it’s practically on the doorstep of Harrods! Not bad eh? On arrival we received a very warm welcome, our coats were whisked away and replaced with glasses of champagne and an array of fabulous treatment options. From the perfect smokey eye, long lasting curls, and retro waves,
Ready, steady, glamour-puss.
Michaeljohn have introduced a new 60 minutes for £60 treatment to their already rather extensive menu. It basically means that if you need to get Christmas party ready in under an hour, then this is the place for you.
For £60 you will get your hair washed and blow-dried, your make-up expertly applied and your nails buffed and polished to perfection.
It’s that time of year when it’s practically impossible to avoid some sort of festive night out. The 60 for £60 treatment is a great way of rewarding yourself (or your loved one) for all the hard work you (they) have done over the past year.
Pauline opted to have a retro wave in her hair, Imran did a fabulous job, to match her hair to the fresh-faced makeup, cat-eye liner and Georgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy red-lipped look. I decided to go for something a bit more out-there asked Cedric to add tousled curls to my Ben Nye glittery eye make-up and Leighton Denny Tempt Me nails.
My make-up artist for the evening, Sara, introduced me to some great new products. I’m now hankering after the Laura Mercier secret brightening powder, some contour powder (completely different from bronzer, apparently) and a new eyeliner - there was a great one from Nars and also a new cheapie from L'Oreal. Sara explained that the brightening powder is perfect for hiding dark circles under the eyes and is so fine that it won’t settle into lines or wrinkles. She finished off my look with a sweep of Mac Please Me, a muted rosy-pink tinted lipstick.
Once our 60 minute makeovers were complete, we said goodbye to the lovely team and headed off to the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel for Christmas cocktails. Ok, so there was nothing Christmassy about the drinks - it was just an excuse to ogle the hotel’s incredible interior.
Pauline’s finished look - hair by Imran Chowdhary and make-up by Nariman Pouranpir.
My finished look - hair by Cedric Gonzales and make-up by Sara Chatterton.
Let your hair down and book yourself in.
