Lucie Loves... Lifestyle // Number 90's birthday weekender, Hackney Wick
All this weekend Number 90 Bar & Kitchen in Hackney Wick are throwing the party of all parties to celebrate their 2nd birthday! And it’s FREE ENTRY! Check out their website for details.
Last night I attended their press evening and had an absolute blast. I can’t believe I haven’t visited this place sooner. The decor has an creative industrial feel, walls and ceilings are awash with art work and pretty lighting, AND they do great cocktails… even if some of them are a bit dubiously named (bit of an in-joke, sorry!)
So tonight, for those of you fancying a good old knees up in east London, head over to Hackney Wick and join in the four-day long party. It’s on from 17th-20th March.
There’s DJs, bands, performers, live art installations, food stalls and innovative cocktails. The celebrations are all free entry, and everyone’s invited.
It’s easy to see why, since opening in 2014, Number 90 has become the go-to haunt for east London’s creative crowd. Not only are the cocktails good and reasonably priced (around £8.50 - £9), but the food is amazing too!
We order the salmon with chilli, asparagus and brocolli and the spring superfood salad, along with a big slab of carrot cake to finish. Note: the carrot cake was so good that I didn’t even have time to take a photo before it got demolished!
They also do a variety of other super foods, classic dishes and burgers, which use fresh and locally sourced ingredients and offer a decent selection of veggie and vegan dishes and tasty gluten free desserts.
What’s on this weekend at Number 90 Bar & Kitchen…
Friday
Compilations from the hugely popular Late Night Tales, along with music from legendary record label Rough Trade, providing the perfect party sound track for tackling the huge birthday piñata.
Saturday
The legendary Phonica Records will be spinning the vinyls alongside Slothboogie, whilst guests can pay a visit to the Starlight Boutique glitter camp, before bending over backwards in a huge limbo competition.
Sunday
Wind down and indulge in what is arguably one of the best roasts in Hackney, whilst relaxing to a mixture of funk, soul and reggae from Russ Ryan and DJ Scratchy. A retro record stand selling vinyls will also be set up in the bar, so music lovers can invest in some Birthday Weekend memorabilia.

Thank you to Kapranos PR for the invitation. We had a really fun night. I can’t wait to come back in summer and enjoy the new outdoor terrace area.
