Lucie Loves… Fashion //#WhatIwore representing @Kelly_Love_com #SS14 at London Fashion Week
I’m a huge ambassador of Young British Designers, and have been for around 3 or more years now. I can often be heard spouting off about their many talents. Whether it’s meeting aspiring designers, talking to strangers on trains about handbags, advising work colleagues on what to buy/wear, or floating around the streets of London in one of their latest creations. I love the lot of them.
London Fashion Week is an incredible place for showcasing new design talent - those of you that saw the Topshop NewGen installation, for instance, will know what I’m on about. I was honoured when designer Kelly Love got in touch and asked whether I’d like to wear something from her SS14 collection this year at LFW.
Kelly Love, was actually born and raised in Australia, but has since settled on British soil. She now lives and works in London, showering us with her sartorial splendours, silken fabrics and simple silhouettes.
I chose the Midnight flight jumpsuit and coat from Kelly Love’s SS14 collection: The Effect of Butterflies. They truly are a kaleidoscope of navy blue and green digital print.
I wore the silk jumpsuit over a plain white shirt from Next, my Kurt Geiger Lambert chocolate leather brogues from My Wardrobe, a matching brown leather waist belt (charity shop find), a chunky gold necklace (also a charity shop find), my new Anna Lou of London gold jade bracelet, and dreamy statement earrings.
I love the crossover spaghetti strap detail of the jumpsuit. Unfortunately, it was a little too cold - being February - to wear it without the shirt or an alternative layer underneath. I’m not that brave foolish.
The matching trench coat made this outfit the height of SS14 coord dressing, and it kept me perfectly warm between shows too.
For people looking for a new spring showpiece - this feels like a very smart purchase.
