It’s a blogger night before Christmas and we’re all feeling particularly hot under the collar. It’s that time of year when you can put things like lavish lingerie sets on your Christmas list and feel (almost) guilt-free. After all, if you’ve been naughty or nice, you deserve them - right? Right!

I remember my first Agent Provocateur Christmas…

JMG and I were spending it with his folks and taking it in turns to open our presents in the living room on Christmas morning.

I was busily oohing and aahing at my gorgeous new gifts and then I spy the next package. I take a sharp intake of breath, pause for just a second and then furtively - trying not to draw attention to myself - start to remove the layers to uncover whatever delightful number is waiting for me inside…

On spying the pastel pink gift box - a tell tale *for your eyes only* sign of something devilishly decadent - I felt rather giddy! Prising open the box, I gingerly removed the Classic, delicate lace Agent Provocateur bra and knicker set - not too dissimilar to the Ariel bra that’s on there at the moment actually… I blushed trying not to give the whole family an eyeful of my new undergarments. Let’s just say the boy did good!

And so, on this cool autumnal evening in London, hoards of bloggers flocked to the Agent Provocateur store to check out their newest collection, enjoy a DJ set by Harriet Verney and be dazzled into retail submission by the stunning model so coquettishly displaying Miss AP’s wares… (The green set is called Molly by the way.)

There is something for everyone. People don’t come to Agent Provocateur for practical scaffolding-esq underwear, they come because they want to look good and feel great wearing beautiful things. As you walk into the low-lit store, it has the feel of a sumptuous boudoir: it’s a little like I imagine walking into a hollywood film star’s closet might be. You’re surrounded by all sorts of goodies: bright, sheerChristmas, Classics and Bridal. There’s a lot to choose from.

My particular *in-my-dreams-I-would-own* favourites are from the Soiree collection. The Emiko dress, which is silk chiffon and embroidered with glass beads. Then there’s the Mistie Kimono which is inspired by a beautiful vintage floral scarf, it has an oriental look about it and is crafted out of devore and chiffon - it was love at first sight seeing that little number. I could imagine Carrie Bradshaw throwing it on at the end of a long day, cocktail in hand, curled up on the sofa, purring down the phone to her lover, the smell of incense filling the room.

Other big AP hitters with bloggers who attended the Mingle All The Way event were the Lacy bra and ouvert briefs - which definitely caught Kim’s eye, the Zuri bra - a colourful fave of Kristabel’s, and my favourite (and Liv’s too) the ever so pretty Yoshie set.

With the countdown to Christmas now on, ladies and gents, the time has come to start dropping little underwear shaped hints for girlfriends or boyfriends, or maybe even splurging on a little treat for yourself… I would! Prices range from around £75 for something like the Bobbie bra and go up to £595 for extra-special pieces like the gold beaded Zarrinia Bra (it’s pretty amazing!)
