The cherry blossom is out, Magnolias are in full bloom and daffodils are starting to fade. It can mean only one thing: spring is here and summer is just around the corner!

Last year, I bought myself a plain grey sweatshirt from Uniqlo - I think it was after spying Alexa Chung looking amazing in one - as she does in everything - and it’s been such a great purchase, in terms of pounds-per-wear. I’ve worn it a hell of a lot!

So, this spring, when I spotted this statement offering by Antipodium, it literally had me at hello or should I say made me ‘Tres’ interested…

A sweatshirt is one of those things you can throw on with your favourite skinny jeans, (my ones in the pic are ‘Leigh’ by Topshop) and a pair of classic leather brogues. (The chocolate brown leather pair are called Lambert by Kurt Geiger, and were purchased in the epic My-Wardrobe sale a few seasons ago).

But back to the sweatshirt. It would also look very cool thrown on as a top layer and used, tactically, to play down a pretty party dress for daytime or work wear.

Refinery29 get it right EVERYTIME. Check out their guide to chic sweatshirts for your laziest of days, and you’ll be hooked!

Never have a seen a woman as beautiful as her bag… Oh wait!

I teamed my look with this awesome black leather Caity rucksack by the equally gorgeous and new Young British Designer darling - Danielle Foster. This satchel-cum-rucksack number is generously proportioned - it can fit an A4 red and black notepad in, and would easily accommodate my Macbook Air and DSLR camera. It can be carried like a traditional satchel by the handle, or worn schoolgirl-style, as a rucksack. Very cute!

I kept my jewellery choices fairly simple, with two thin gold bracelets, skipping on a necklace, and instead, opting for a pair of colourful and rather playful, Anna Lou of London earrings.

What I wore:

I’ll be doing my best to mix and match these new pieces with as many outfit combinations as humanly possible, to show just how versatile they really are and get the most amount of wears out of them whilst JMG and I save up for our wedding.

Thank you to ybdfashion for letting me style these beautiful pieces, as always, I’m honoured to represent talented Young British Designers and give them a platform to show the world just how fabulous they are!
