I’ve been waiting and waiting for this day. December 1st is ‘put-your-tree-up-day’.

Something for you…

As an early festive gift to all of my London readers, Creekside Christmas have given me a promo code for you to use which will give you £5 off your order.

All you need to do is check whether they deliver in your area, and then enter the code LUCIE and you’ll save £5 off any order, or you can use the code NEW FRIENDS and save 10% off - whatever helps you more.

It’s really beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our little flat. The tree has been delivered, the decorations are up, the fairy lights are twinkling, and a cinnamon scented candle is glowing on the hearth.

Our tree this year is a six footer delivered with a smile by one of the lovely Creekside Christmas team. JMG carried it upstairs and set up the stand. I grabbed a decanter (as I’d smashed the pyrex jug… oops!) and filled the stand up with water. We set to work decorating the tree with all of the lovely baubles we’ve collected over the years along with some of our newest additions.

My family came to stay this weekend and my mum bought me a cute little vintage style bauble from the gift shop at Kew Gardens following our visit to the Christmas at Kew illuminated trail. We also have a lovely turtle dove from JMG’s parents and a little Chinese lantern off my grandparents that must be older than we are!! There is something beautifully sentimental about the story that attaches itself to certain decorations. I wonder if anyone feels the same?

A massive thank you…

to the folks at Creekside Christmas http://www.creeksidechristmas.co.uk/ for sending us one of their amazing real Norway Spruce christmas trees.

I can’t wait to see everyone get into Christmas mode, let me know if you get one too.
