Had a great day, yesterday, with my good friends Melly and Laura sampling the delightful street food and scrumpy-ish cider at the aptly named Feast in the Fields festival, tucked under the arches closes to London Fields, Hackney. Feast in the Fields class themselves as ‘a monthly gathering of all that’s great about London streetfood’ and they’re not wrong!

It was a cute little set up serving various curries, jerk chicken, risotto balls, crepes, icecreams, tea cocktails, London Brewery hand-crafted beers and the ever-so-English summer staple - Pimms.

Between the three of us we sampled the soft boil salmon scotch egg with beetroot salad served by the South West Supper Club also known under the name of Jimmy’s Underground Pop-up - who are soon to be taking over the kitchen at The Tap Room just across the road from the London Fields Brewery. I’m most certainly going to be checking out their food menu after seeing spying those delicious scotch eggs…

We also tried the jerk chicken wrap - super-spicy but very fresh and very tasty and the chicken curry - yum!

Tickets for Feast in the Fields can be purchased 'on the door’ today or should I say gate as it’s outside? They cost £9 for a beer + food ticket and you definitely get what you pay for.

If you’re in east London today, head over and enjoy the spread and help support new local ventures at the same time!

Today (Sunday) you can enjoy live music from 2pm - 8pm and cure those east London hangovers at the same time. Perfect.
