My best friend joked last night “You know how mothers pass down family heirlooms to their kids?” “Yeah?” I say. “Well…” She chuckled, “You’ll be passing on your eccentric collection of bed linens, cushions and throws!”

It’s true. I’m a sucker for colourful prints – the clashier the better usually too! Must be the female nesting instinct in me…

I guess I’m like a magpie for home comforts.

So, after receiving one of the prettiest floral invitations I’ve ever seen, I went with Lucie Loves Men’s Lifestyle Editor, James Barley and his partner David, to the launch of the #HenryForHabitat collection – Henry’s second interiors collaboration with the infinitely-covetable Habitat brand.

Full of ”frill, flare and flounce!”

We arrived, grabbed a colourful cocktail or two from the florally decked out bar, had out fortunes read, checked out Henry’s new collection, had our photos taken, messed about on the bed and played a horse racing game. It was hoot!

Afterwards, we headed over to The Hoxton Holborn for the afterparty in The Apartment. It was fun evening and refreshing to see Habitat partnering with someone like Henry, to bring the Habitat brand to a younger audience. The prints used are taken from Henry’s SS17 Catwalk collection. I definitely see this as a massive trend for 2017, with older brands choosing to work with fresh faces to add something new to their offering.

In homage to Henry, I wore my Simeon Farrar ‘Paper Strips’ dress from Young British Designers. Such a fun sweater dress!
