This morning we woke up in our new little house surrounded by not-yet-unpacked boxes and smiling from ear to ear. We hadn’t yet had time to do a ‘big shop’ and so decided to treat JMG’s mum and dad to a bit of breakfast at Wallace & Co in Putney. A colleague of mine had recommended it a while ago and it did not disappoint.

We order mugs of English breakfast tea, an Americano coffee and a latte. Good on both the tea and coffee fronts.

To start, JMG’s parents ordered a bowl of porridge each - one topped with sultanas, one without. We chose the eggs. Eggs Benedict for JMG, with an extra Cumberland sausage and Eggs florentine for me with a side of sweet cure streaky bacon AND a Cumberland sausage. Delicious!

The inlaw’s second breakfast course consisted of a yummy bacon & egg butty on thick-sliced white bread.

Lovely service complete with an authentic London cockney accent. It had a beautiful industrial feel to the restaurant interior. We were salivating over the gorgeous pendant lamps!!

I’d recommend this place for breakfast or lunch with your loved ones or even catching up with friends over tasty coffee and cakes.

Total for 4 people £48
